Duramax Frame Bracket Failure
Duramax Frame Bracket Failure!
In this video, Chris from Duramax Service Center is working on a 2004 Chevy 2500 and encounters an issue while removing the differential to install a new lift kit. The upper mount of the differential unexpectedly came off, which is a common problem when a truck is heavily used, especially in four-wheel-drive mode.
With the upper mount broken, the differential can only stay locked at the lower point and the axle tube, which allows it to move more than it should and prevents it from being fully secured to the truck's frame. To fix this, Chris plans to weld the mount back to the frame and clean up the area.
Fortunately, since the truck is getting a new lift kit, the broken mount will be replaced by a new one provided with the front crossmember. The video wraps up with a reminder to like, share, and subscribe, and invites viewers to contact the service center for any questions or repair needs.
